Question

I need to update my unit * via PCMCIA card. I own a compatible PCMCIA card, can I get the software and load it on the card myself?

Answer

Yes if you own one of the following units:

  • M5000, System 6000, DB4 / DB8, if you also have a FLOPPY DRIVE attached to a PC.
  • Reverb 4000, LM2, connected directly with USB to a PC.

With these units there is a feature that allows you to dump the binary file on the PCMCIA. The dump is not possible with a PCMCIA card reader/writer, Compact Flash adapters or the like.

If you own one of these units, please contact support to receive the software file corresponding to your unit.

How-to

If you own one of these units System 6000, M5000, DB8 / DB4:

  1. Download the software file (format .WIZ)
  2. Copy the file on a new formatted Floppy disk
  3. Rename the file on Floppy to Dumpfile.bin
  4. Insert the Floppy on the Floppy Drive of the unit previously mentioned
  5. Insert the PCMCIA in the slot of the unit.
  6. Go to the Card menu - FRAME / SYSTEM / CARD (on TC Icon EDITOR or ICON REMOTE)
  7. Press the button "Dump binary file to card"

If you own a LM2 or a Reverb 4000:

  1. Download the software file (format .WIZ)
  2. Rename the file on Floppy to Dumpfile.bin
  3. Place the File in C:/User/App Data/Roaming/TC Electronic/ LM2 (or R4000)
  4. Go to the Card menu - FRAME / SYSTEM / CARD (on TC Icon EDITOR or ICON REMOTE)
  5. Press the button "Dump binary file to card"
Your PCMCIA card is ready to be used to update your TC Electronic processor.
