How to use the SideChainer for PowerCore

Question

How do I use the Sidechainer plug-in? There does not seem to be a manual for it.

Answer

PowerCore software version 1.7 - 1.9.6.

The Sidechainer only works with the Filtroid and therefore the description for setting it up can be foundĀ in the Filtroid manual which you canĀ download from this page.

Using the SideChainer plug-in.

  1. Insert a SideChainer plug-in on the channel you want to be the master.
  2. Insert a Filtroid plug-in on the channel you would like to slave to the SideChainer master. The result is that Filtroid's Envelope Follower is now responding to the dynamics of the SideChainer channel.

The first time you load a SideChainer plug-in, it will number itself as 1, as indicated in the user interface of the SideChainer. If you load another SideChainer on a second channel, it will automatically number itself as 2.

SideChainer and Filtroid do not support more than two SideChainer plug-ins.

PowerCore software version 3 (and higher).

From PowerCore software version 3 and higher, the SideChainer has been redesigned to support up to 99 internal sidechain channels, and the new SideChainer supports the following plug-ins:

  • 24/7-C
  • Dynamic EQ
  • Filtroid
  • PowerCore 01
  • PowerCore CL

Using the SideChainer plug-in:

  1. Insert a SideChainer plug-in on the channel you want to be the master. This channel has to have a lower channel number than the channel on which either of the 5 plug-ins above are inserted. This means: SideChainer on channel 1 - plug-in on channel 2 and above.
  2. Insert a plug-in on the channel you would like to slave to the SideChainer.

For more information on the new features of SideChainer, please refer to the SideChainer product manual.
