Konnekt / Impact Twin: Troubleshooting in Mac OS X

Question

My Konnekt / Impact Twin is not working correctly under Mac OS X. What should I do?

Answer

Please try this first:

  • Unplug the FireWire cable from the Konnekt / Impact, so it's not connected to your system.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Install the latest version of the TC Near software: (while keeping the Konnekt / Impact disconnected from your system): TCNear software
  • Afte restarting again, shut down your computer.
  • Connect the FireWire cable to the Konnekt / Impact Twin again.
  • Start your computer.

If that fails to resolve the issue, please follow these instructions:

  • Unplug the FireWire cable from the Konnekt / Impact, so it's not connected to your system.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Users/<username> - run the TC_Near_Uninstall.command
  • Restart your computer.
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Applications. Ensure any TCNear application has been deleted. If it hasn't, trash it (either by dragging it to the trash or pressing Apple + Backspace).
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Users/<username> - trash the following files:
    TCNear Uninstall.log
    TC_Near_Uninstall.command
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers/ - make sure the following file has been removed. If it hasn't, trash it.
    TCNearMIDIDriver.plugin
  • Go to Macintosh HD/System/Library/Extensions/ - make sure the following file has been removed. If it hasn't, trash it.
    TCNear.kext
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Library/PreferencePanes/ - make sure the following file has been removed. If it hasn't, trash it.
    TCNear.prefPane
  • Go to Macintosh HD/Library/Receipts/ - trash the following files: (depending on your audio interface)
    Konnekt 24D.pkg
    Konnekt 8.pkg
    Konnekt Live.pkg
    Desktop Konnekt6.pkg
    Studio Konnekt 48.pkg
    Digital Konnekt x32.pkg
    Impact Twin.pkg
  • Empty the trash.
  • Open Disk Utility located under Applications/Utility/.
  • Select your Macintosh HD and click 'Repair Permissions'.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Install the latest version of the TC Near software: (IMPORTANT: Select both 'driver and control panel' as well as your specific Konnekt / Impact Twin interface during installation):
    TCNear Software.
  • Restart your computer.
