Konnekt / Impact: Which type of converters are used

Question

What kind of converters are used in the Konnekt audio interfaces?

Answer

Like most of our products, the converter chip used in the Konnekt audio interfaces is from Asahi Kasei Microsystems, also known as AKM. This particular converter chip used has been designed in a cooperation between AKM and TC Electronic.

Chip type aside, it's important to note that the chip alone is not really a measurement of quality, as the clocking circuitry, including the handling of jitter rejection and a power supply capable of supplying a stable current are just as important factors as the specific converter chip being used.

The jitter rejection and sync handling in the Konnekt is using the JETTM (patent pending) technology from the TC flag ship System6000 platformEQ Station and Dynaudio Professional Air speakers.

JETTM ensures that the Konnekt audio interfaces are able to align all digital signals from external clock sources perfectly.
