PowerCore: Cannot install drivers under Windows XP

Question

Every time I start / restart my Windows computer, I see the 'Found new hardware' dialog asking me to install the drivers for the PowerCore. After running the installation, I sometimes see the error: "The Installation could not be completed ...".

What is going on?

Answer

This can occur under certain Windows configurations.

One workaround, is to first run the PowerCore software installer program, and then use the Windows Device Manager  to do a manual installation of the drivers from there:

  1. Go to the Windows Device Manager and locate the PowerCore.
  2. Rightclick on PowerCore and select 'Properties'. Then click 'Update Driver'.
  3. When you are asked to provide the path for the PowerCore drivers, please point to the folder where you have extracted the file below.

Download the latest PowerCore software here.
