The Installation Guide of my PowerCore specifies 384 KByte SRAM per DSP, however the PowerCore product pages and brochures says 128 kWords. What is going on?
The PowerCore manual expresses the amount of RAM in Kilobytes, which is an 8 bit value. This is the standard unit used to indicate the amount of available RAM in computers that most people have become accustomed to.
However, PowerCore reads the amount of available RAM with a 24 bit word value, expressed in kilowords or kWords. So, 384 KB is equal to 128 kWords.
In other words, the PowerCores holds exactly the same amount of data, no matter how you express the terms.
