C) Tips & Tricks

FW controller card
We highly recommend to use a separate / dedicated FW controller card.
We do not recommend any specific models, since manufacturers and specifications vary from country to country.
To get the best results get a Texas Instruments card or a VIA VT6306 based FireWire card.

PCI latency settings (if separate FW controller card is using a PCI slot)
Please follow the link below to see how to set up/ improve performance...

FW800-to-FW400 adapter (if required and in use)
If you are using a FW adapter or an adapter cable pls check functionality / or different cables/adapters.
We recommend a more robust FW800-to-FW400 adapter solution, such as this one http://www.sonnettech.com/product/fw_adapter.html
