PowerCore: Shows as "Intelligent E/A-(I2O)-Controller" in device manager

Question

My PowerCore hardware shows as "Intelligent E/A-(I2O)-Controller" and doesn't work on my computer. What can i do?

Answer

This problem can occur under certain Windows configurations.
One workaround, is to first run the PowerCore software installer program, and then use the Windows Device Manager to do a manual installation of the drivers from there. Please see below how to do:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Right click on "Intelligent E/A-(I2O)-Controller" entry and select "Properties".
  3. Go to the "Driver" tab and click on "Update Driver".
  4. Select "Browse My Computer...",  select in the next dialog window "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer".
  5. Search for and select "PowerCore/PCI"  from the device driver list (un-check "show compatible hardware" option).
  6. Click "Next".
