PowerCore > UAD Crossgrade

Question

Is the PowerCore to UAD crossgrade still available?

Answer

The PowerCore-to-UAD crossgrade is no longer available from Universal Audio - the promotion ended June 30th 2011.
Please direct any questions about it to Universal Audio, exclusively.

The following QAs only apply to users who were able to meet the UA crossgrade terms before the deadline on June 30th 2011.

Q: I have a PowerCore, and I don't own a UAD-2, do I qualify?
A: Yes (provided your PowerCore is registered to your TC My Account.)

Q: I have an old PowerCore card, green first generation - do I qualify?
A: Yes (provided your PowerCore is registered to your My Account.)

Q: I am a PowerCore user, and I also own an already registered UAD card. I consider to buy a second UAD card, do I qualify?
A: Yes. All PowerCore users qualify for the cross grade. Be aware that the cross grade offer is the same for users that already own a UAD card and those that are new to the UAD platform.

Q: I am a PowerCore user; I have recently bought a UAD-2, which I registered in 2010, do I qualify?
A: No. Only users who register their UAD-2 after January 1st (and before June 30th) 2011, qualify

Q: I am a PowerCore user; I have recently bought a UAD-2, which I registered January 2011, prior to the cross grade offer, do I qualify?
A: Yes. Users who register their UAD-2 after January 1st (and before June 30th) 2011, qualify

Q: I am a PowerCore user. I plan to buy a UAD-2; how should I proceed to be qualified for the cross grade offer?
A: Simply buy your UAD-2 at your UA reseller. Then, register the UAD-2 at the UA web site before June 30th 2011. Once you have registered the product, you will be able to enter your PowerCore Authentication ID and once it is approved, the plug-ins will be available on your UAD account.

Q: Do I have to register my PowerCore to be qualified?
A: Yes, your PowerCore has to be registered to a TC Electronic My Account, in order for you to qualify for the crossgrade.

Q: If I make use of the PowerCore to UAD-2 crossgrade offer, can I keep my PowerCore?
A: Yes, you can keep your PowerCore. However, a PowerCore can (obviously) only be crossgraded once. Should you wish to sell your PowerCore, the new owner will NOT be able to crossgrade it as well.

Q: I just bought a second hand PowerCore. How do I check if this second hand PowerCore is eligible to the UAD-2 cross grade?
A: Register the PowerCore here. Once logged in, you will be able to see whether your PowerCore is eligible for the crossgrade.
You will only see if the PowerCore was already used for a crossgrade:

Q: Do 2nd hand PowerCores qualify for the crossgrade?
A: A PowerCore can only be crossgraded once, so if you're buying a PowerCore and the seller has already crossgraded it prior to selling it to you, you cannot crossgrade it as well. Furthermore, any disputes regarding already crossgraded 2ndhand PowerCores, will have to be resolved between the seller and the buyer. Neither TC Electronic nor UA can intercede in or mediate such disputes.

Q: I already own a PowerCore and a UAD-2. I consider to make use of the cross grade offer and buy a second UAD-2. I can see that the Fairchild plug-in is part of the free plug-ins that I get when I make use of the cross grade offer. Can I exchange the Fairchild with one of your other plug-ins?
A: Unfortunately not. The plug-in packages are set as is.
