Spark XL: CPU overload under 96 kHz with PowerCore plug-ins

Question

I'm working with 96 kHz files, but my built-inĀ audio device does not support high sample rates. Therefore Spark resamples the output to 44.1 kHz. As soon as I insert a PowerCore plug-in, I get a very high CPU load, and a audio engine error message.

What can I do about this?

Answer

When Spark performs resampling, the audio data is processed in a different way. Set the ADMA buffers in your PowerCore control panel to 2 or higher. This will reduce the host CPU load to normal levels.
