System 6000 / DB8 / DB4 (old): How to reset the IP Address on Frame

Question

My Icon cannot detect the frame.

How can I reset the IP address on my old System 6000/ DB8/DB4 Frame?

Answer

The only way to reset the IP address is to use a floppy Disk. If you have no way to copy a file from a PC to a floppy disk, please contact us and we will send you a pre-loaded floppy

If you still have the possibility to copy a file from PC to floppy, please follow the procedure below:

  • Copy the attached CTL file at the root of a freshly formatted Floppy Disk
  • Insert the Floppy disk in the floppy Drive of your Mainframe, and power ON
  • After about 15 seconds, the IP address will be reset to 192.168.1.126 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0

You just need to set 192.168.1.125 on your Icon to access the frame, and possibly re-change the address to your local needs.

Note: You can also directly modify the IP adress in the CTL file using a notepad editor on your PC.

Note: On a System 6000 and DB's MKII, there is a reset button on the front panel beside the LED.
