System 6000: How to find the IP address of an upgraded mainframe

Question

How do I find the IP address of my upgraded S6000 MKII mainframe?

Answer

The System 6000 MKll has been reset, and therefore the IP address is reset to a default value.
The default value is based on the last two digits of the mainframe serial number found on the back plate label.

The general rule follows this scheme:

Serial: nnnnxx -> IP address: 192.168.1.0xx.
If the serial ends with “00”, the IP address will be 192.168.1.100.

Examples:

Serial: 289603 -> IP: 192.168.1.3
Serial: 289679 -> IP: 192.168.1.79
Serial: 289700 -> IP: 192.168.1.100
