The Dreamscape: Using it in an amp's FX loop

Question

Is the Dreamscape pedal designed to work properly in the effects loop of an amp?

Answer

Yes, it can be used in the effects loop of an amp.

The FX loop is always located after the pre-amp and before the power amp. In general the FX loop provides better results in terms of signal to noise ratio for those types of effects known as modulation effects. You will also get the optimal sound with regards to modulation and spatialisation effects. Finally, effects placed in the FX loop will take into account the overdrive/distortion provided by the gain channel of your amplifier.

Modulation effects include:

  • Chorus
  • Flanger
  • Phaser
  • Vibe
  • Leslie
  • Vibrato
  • Tremolo

Spatialisation effects include:

  • Delay
  • Reverb

It should finally be mentioned that the Dreamscape, like every TonePrint pedal, is able to handle all impedances and signal levels. This means that it is also perfectly possible to use it in the front input of amp, directly between your guitar and your amplifier, should you wish to do so.
