Using PowerCore plug-ins with Digital Performer 8

Question

I've installed the latest PoCo software but Digital Performer 8 does not "see" any of the TC plugins. What to do?

Answer

Digital Performer 8 launches in 64-bit mode by default, in which case it will only detect 64-bit Plug-Ins. Since there is no 64 bit-to-32 bit plug-in bridge included, you have to use a third party bridge i.e. jBridge for Mac OS X or launch DP in 32-bit mode to continue using your 32-bit PowerCore plug-Ins in Digital Performer 8. Here is how:

  1. Find the Digital Performer application in your Applications folder (Macintosh HD > Applications).
  2. Control-click (or right-click) the icon and choose 'Get Info.'
  3. In the Info window click the 'Run in 32-bit Mode' option.
  4. Close the Info window and launch Digital Performer. It will now run in 32-bit mode.
