VoiceLive units: How to prevent them from controlling DAW channels

Question

My VoiceLive 2 / VoiceLive Touch / VoiceLive Rack is controlling my DAW when I change presets. Strange things like SOLO turn on when I push buttons on my device. How can I stop that?

Answer

These devices send MIDI CC data on CC Channel 1 by default, which may be picked up and interpreted as control messages by your DAW. For example, in Logic Express changing presets on the device also activates SOLO on channels 1+2 on the mixer.

By changing the MIDI CC channel to 0 or OFF, you can stop all CC messages being sent to your DAW.

Instructions for changing MIDI CC channel can be found in the manuals:

VoiceLive Rack
